Advantages of energy saving LED bulbs:
Environmentally Friendly
- Traditional fluorescent lamps contain mercury vapor which can harm the envrionment if the lamp breaks and the mercury is allowed to escape and vaporize into the atmosphere. LED bulbs contain no mercury and are safer for the user.
Lower Energy Costs, Longer Life
- LED lighting uses about a third of the energy of traditional lighting solutions.
- LED lighting bulbs last approximately 10 times longer than fluorescent bulbs. This means less time on the lift changing bulbs, less chance for injury, and more productive days
- LED bulbs are made from epoxy resin, making it very difficult to break. Fewer broken bulbs mean less waste
Low Heat
- Traditional lighting solutions produce large amounts of heat energy compared to the light they generate. LED lights produce large amounts of light energy compared to the heat they generate. Quite simply, LED lights transfer more of the energy that they use into light rather than heat – about 90-95% more!
Adjustable Voltages
- Fluorescent lighting utilizes high voltage rectifiers to increase illumination, which makes the voltage tolerance very small. If the voltage drops too low, the light simply won’t work. LED lighting does not use ballasts or starters, making the acceptable voltage range much wider.
Greater Comfort
- Traditional fluorescent lights tend to hum, buzz, and otherwise make all kinds of noises. LED lights do not
- Traditional fluorescent lights tend to flicker – at about 100-120 flashes per second. LED lights do not have this problem. Believe it or not, studies have shown productivity increases in more conducive working environments.
UV Free Operation
- Traditional lighting produces UV rays which can harm light sensitive objects. LED lighting operates UV-free, making it the ideal solution for museums where adequate lighting needs to be balanced with UV reduction.
